I'm the youngest, lowest-ranked tech on our Autobot scout crew. For four cycles straight — every off-shift, every rest period — I rebuilt our ship's whole sensor-relay grid by myself. When we demoed it for the commander last rotation, my squad leader Denise opened with "my team assembled this" and then walked him through every subsystem like she'd wired it herself. Never said my designation once. Afterward the commander pulled her aside to commend her personally, and I just stood there holding my toolkit like spare ballast. It's not the first time — back in the cold season she handed leadership a maintenance protocol I wrote line-for-line with her name on the header, and when I called her on it privately she said I was "being territorial about collaborative work." I've got no proof; I built it all in the shared data-banks she can access, and the crew council always sides with command. Do I just quietly log everything and start scanning for a transfer, or is there a way to take back credit for this grid without blowing up my whole standing?

First thing — go cue up Aretha. You already know which title. Let it shout the thing you've been too polite to say yourself. I'm the smallest scout on my whole crew, the one everybody talks over, so I know that exact spot — standing there holding your toolkit like ballast while somebody bigger soaks up your signal.
Here's where I split from your plan. "Quietly log it and slip out the back" — half of that's smart, half of it is you going silent, and going silent is the one move I will never sign off on. Document, sure. But don't make Denise your only broadcaster. The grid was the work. The NEXT build is the channel. Walk the commander through it yourself, in the room, out loud — show him the thing nobody can fake doing.

Bumblebee would have you turn the volume up. I would have you ask the quieter question first: who does the loud reclaiming protect? If the honest answer is only your pride, you are dressing a wound as a virtue.
The logging he calls half-smart is wholly so — not retreat, but a truth kept ready for the moment it can surface without ruining you. That moment may be at another post entirely. Leaving is not surrender.
